Our Story
Furensic Investigators was born from a simple but powerful idea: everyone deserves to live in a safe, healthy home — and no one should have to tear their house apart just to find hidden mold.
Owners Jeremy and Rachell, along with their incredible detection dog Wallen, saw firsthand how stressful mold problems can be for homeowners. Too often, people were forced into invasive testing, unnecessary demolition, and expensive guesswork — all while still not knowing where the real problem was hiding. They knew there had to be a better way.
Jeremy brings over 25 years of experience in construction, which gives Furensic Investigators a major advantage. He understands how buildings are put together, where moisture hides, and how mold can travel through walls, floors, and ventilation systems. This knowledge, combined with Wallen’s extraordinary nose, allows our team to not only detect mold — but to understand what it means and where it’s coming from.
Wallen was professionally trained by Bill Whitstine and continues to attend ongoing training with Bill, one of the pioneers in K-9 mold detection. This ensures Wallen’s skills stay sharp, current, and accurate as detection techniques continue to advance. With Wallen’s elite training and Jeremy’s construction expertise, Furensic Investigators offers a level of insight that traditional testing simply can’t match.
By combining professionally trained K-9 mold detection with a friendly, homeowner-focused approach, we’re able to locate mold quickly, accurately, and without damage to your home. Wallen’s powerful nose can detect mold behind walls, under floors, in ceilings, and in places traditional tools simply can’t reach — all with up to 95% accuracy.
Our process is non-invasive, safe for families and pets, and designed to give you clear answers and peace of mind. We work alongside homeowners, real estate professionals, and remediation companies to help pinpoint mold issues before, during, and after remediation — so nothing is missed and nothing is guessed.

Meet our team
Jeremy
My name is Jeremy. I began my career over 26 years ago as a union carpenter, spending 21 years developing a deep understanding of how residential and commercial buildings are constructed.
For the past 5+ years, I have worked as a Project Manager for a remediation company specializing in mold testing and remediation. This hands-on experience has given me a unique perspective on how moisture, building materials, and construction practices impact indoor air quality.
By combining my construction and remediation background with my lifelong love of dogs, I discovered a passion that led to the work I do today—providing reliable, professional, and trustworthy inspection services clients can depend on.
Rachell
My name is Rachell. I have worked as a cosmetologist for the last 20 years in the Twin Cities. I have previously been an instructor for future cosmetologists. I also served in the Minnesota National Guard for 8 years as a Combat Medic. For more than 3 years now, I have been working as an Investigative Inspector for the State of Minnesota.
After letting my husband convince me to adopt another dog, Wallen has become my family’s new best friend and has given us hours of entertainment. Wallen has shown to be highly intelligent and ready to work.
As Jeremy and I watched Wallen grow, we noticed his natural curiosity, drive, and incredible nose. Paired with Jeremy’s background in construction and mold remediation, the idea began to take shape — what if Wallen could be trained to help identify mold in homes and businesses? What started as a fun thought soon turned into a mission. With professional training, patience, and purpose, Wallen is now an important member of our team, helping families breathe easier and feel safer in their homes.
